Tonight I went to a book signing at my local library. The author Laurie Halse Anderson, the writer of
"Speak" was there talking about her new book
"Twisted." She is so nice and down to earth and I had alot of fun just listening to her talk. After her talk she signed books and chatted with the people who attended. It was very relaxed and not rushed at all, like some other meet and greets I've been to.
Needless to say, her book tour worked because now I definitely want to read
"Twisted." It's about a young man in high school and how rough it is growing up in society because of expectations and what not. Laurie Halse Anderson actually talked to boys at book tours, her daughters' boyfriends, and what not to get a good research on boys are thinking now a days. The way she was describing how she went about writing this book makes it sound really interesting.
( Cut for pictures! )On another good note, my teacher and I are on good speaking terms again. Mrs. Shaffer, who is the moderater for the Pro Life club at my school, was the one who told me I had missed too many days of school to go on the Washington DC trip in January. I know it was my fault but considering she let a girl who isn't even in Pro Life go in my place always really ate at me. Anyway, since then we kind of have been really avoiding each other but tonight it as if nothing had ever happened. I'm really glad that we are finally comfortable with each other again because she's really nice. I can't stand alot of the teachers at my school and adding her on to that list kind of sucked.
But it's all good now. :)
